Kvasnicka, L. and Finnegan, A.C. 2020. ‘Refreshed Grounds for a Feminist Peace Studies’, Peace Change, 45: pp. 426-454.
This article examines the notion of peace studies as a discipline that is dominated by female scholars and aims to examine this phenomenon. It notes a correlation between sexism and militarism and identifies the persistent belief that femininity and pacifism are oftentimes equated by society. The text then advocates for the resocialization of peace studies in the hopes that it will eventually free itself from the gendered identity it possesses, thereby expanding its scope and audience to reach even more people.
